How it all started...

GO DO Fitness began, like many companies, with a simple idea to solve a small but frustrating problem. As college students living in San Luis Obispo, California, we often traveled back home to the Bay Area to visit our families. We were both dedicated to staying active, but whenever we went home, we found ourselves without gym memberships. At first, this was an inconvenience, but it soon turned into an opportunity for exploration. Every time we were home, we made it a point to try out different gyms. We became fascinated by the unique features of each one and how no two gyms were the same.

On one trip back, Garrett Doolittle, one of our founders, shared his experiences with his dad. His dad, being a business owner himself, planted the seed of a business idea around this concept. That initial spark turned into a flame. Garrett returned to San Luis Obispo and shared the idea with his roommate, Nick Uecker. With their shared entrepreneurial mindset, they began brainstorming, shaping, and refining what would eventually become GO DO Fitness.

We realized that our problem—finding a gym while traveling—wasn't just ours alone. Many people face the same challenge. From visiting different gyms, we noticed there had to be a more efficient way to streamline the gym discovery process. After all, what one gym offers might be perfect for one person but less ideal for another. Unfortunately, discovering this often comes at a high cost to both the potential client and the gym itself. That’s where GO DO Fitness comes in.

Our goal is simple: revolutionize the way people discover and access gyms. We partner with gyms to offer mass exposure and bring them motivated leads—at no cost to the gym. For gym-goers, we provide an easy way to find and try gyms that match their needs. Whether you’re starting your fitness journey, moving to a new area, traveling for work, or on vacation trying to maintain your beach-ready physique, GO DO Fitness is here to help.

By helping people find the right gym, we aim to create happier, longer-lasting gym memberships that benefit both clients and gyms. Ultimately, our mission is to help the fitness industry thrive while making fitness discovery more simple for everyone.

One time while back home in the Bay Area, Garrett Doolittle, one of our founders was talking to his dad about his experience trying out these different gyms. His dad, being a business owner himself, planted the seed of starting some sort of business around this experience. That spark had turned into a flame. Garrett returned to San Luis Obispo and told his roommate, Nick Uecker, about this conversation he had with his dad. Knowing they both had an entrepreneurial mindset they both got to work talking about the idea and over time that idea grew, was bended, stretched, and molded into the company that GO DO FITNESS is today.

We figured our little problem of not having a gym membership at home and not knowing the best gym to go to when we traveled back couldn’t possibly be a problem faced only by us. By visiting multiple gyms we noticed there must be a better way of streamlining the membership process because what one gym has may or may not be ideal for a customers needs and finding that out could cost a client money or a gym a potential client. That is where GO DO FITNESS comes in, we aim to bridge that gap via our unbiased and fact-based reviews. These reviews will be presented in a simple and compiled format that anyone can use whether they are traveling for work but want to stay active, moving to a new area, or even on vacation trying to maintain their beach-ready physique. This compiled format can help a potential client find the gym that is best suited for their needs based off our review criteria creating happy clients who are likely to stay with that gym for longer which in turn will help that gym thrive which is really our main goal, to help the fitness industry thrive and create a more simple and more healthy environment for all.
